Since 2014, thanks to the Art Ovrag festival (2017, 2018 – under the supervision of the project group «8 lines»), the Art Courtyards program has been underway in the city of Vyksa. It is dedicated to the transformation of the urban environment with the direct participation of local residents. 11 public spaces (courtyards and squares) were implemented over five years - this experience made it possible to formulate an algorithm for solving some urban problems.

The methodological manual was based on many years of experience in organizing projects of joint design by the OMK-Uchastie Foundation. This is a rare experience, not only in the Russian, but also on a global scale, of involving a large company in the development of the urban environment and the community of citizens.

The content of the book is not a distracted theory, but a real practice of involving citizens, designing and implementing what was conceived: three stories from three curators about the arrangement of Vyksa yards, which are generalized and become the basis for methodological recommendations.

All cases are accompanied by high-quality photographs from the scene of events, which will serve as evidence of the reality of what is happening, will convey the atmosphere of joint work, a large urban movement, and a common holiday.
